The London Head Office required a Boardroom befitting the status of Aviva, and three large conference rooms divisible by folding doors, to be used individually or in different combinations.
In the Boardroom twin sixty inch screens were installed to display HD videoconferencing. These have the capability to host a multi-point call of up to four locations and to share PC presentations with the other end in the call. As these are twin screens they can view a PC presentation from others or display a number of combinations, which makes the call comfortable.
Having the displays designed correctly is vital as Aviva’s expectations of the overall feel of the audio was arguably the most important element of a Video and audio conference call. As a result after a demonstration, the in table button mic system was chosen for solid audio pick up.
One of Aviva’s requirements was to occasionally display fine figure work which would be a strain for the reader on the Plasma’s. To avoid this we installed a retractable projection system that can display any of the PC sources on to a 2500mm wide, electric recessed projection screen.
The complete system including the lighting, is controlled using a wireless, colour touch panel designed for complete ease of use so anyone can walk in and instantly use the room.
The three divisible rooms needed to be multipurpose for high level, 12 person meetings, or to become one room for televised, annual presentations with company results and news. We installed a high brightness, retractable projection system in each room to display onto large retractable, recessed screens capable of Freeview and PC from multiple locations, and to simultaneously display the content on all screens. The end room was installed with two projection systems so that the orientation could be changed subject to the audience and presentation.
Each area has a zoned audio design so wireless microphones can be used for voice amplification and the presentation audio. They also have audio conferencing but the challenge was the microphone system. In this area they originally had ceiling mics that were not satisfactory due to the room acoustics and the position of the audience. To overcome this we installed the wireless table microphone system giving them powerful audio and great flexibility.
The complete system, including the lighting and blind operations are all controlled using individual wireless, colour touch panels designed for ease of use. This means that anyone can walk in and instantly use the room, but still have a chosen master control when the rooms are being used as one.
Ikure’s maintenance has been the saviour on several occasions for Aviva when key people are not able to assist on a particular day, or the unforeseeable happens, but Ikure’s smiling face always arrives to fix the problem.
